Briony’s research is focussed on children and disasters and she has a special interest in school-based education for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. She holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science from La Trobe University and an Honours Degree in Psychology (First Class) from the University of Tasmania. Her PhD at the University of Tasmania involved an in-depth socio-cultural study of children’s knowledge of wildfire risk in south eastern Australia.
